On November 22, 2023, we created the AI Study Group at Manchester Statistical Society. This is an open group: every MSS member is very welcome to attend the AI meetings. This group aims to expand our knowledge of AI and valuable applications of AI.

The AI Study Group held its official opening on January 23, 2024, at the Greater Manchester Chamber of Commerce. We hosted distinguished guests: our current President, three past Presidents, people involved in introducing modern technologies, writing scientific books on AI, business people interested in AI and professionals in the world of AI.
It was a very good, professional meeting and an excellent opening of our AI activities at Manchester Statistical Society. Our speaker, Dr Aalok Y Shukla is an experienced innovator. He has worked with AI since 2018 as part of the AI accelerator at Founder’s Factory. He is the co-founder of Implement AI, a next generation technology and training partner that supports organisations in understanding, selecting, and implementing AI systems and agents. Alongside Dr Shukla is co-founder Piers Linney, a former Dragon’s Den investor and experienced technology entrepreneur. Together, their goal is to help companies to maximize emerging AI capabilities. Dr Aalok Y Shukla talked to us about Implementing AI for business growth and productivity. He delivered an excellent presentation showing advantages that the use of AI gives/can give companies, and how businesses, especially SMBs can adopt them in a positive and responsible way to improve business efficiency and productivity.

The AI Study Group plans to continue its educational mission by organising regular monthly meetings on AI topics, inviting experts, innovators, professionals in the field of AI, organising AI workshops, planning projects in the field of data science. We warmly welcome our members and guests to join and participate.
